4 R's our values

St Joseph's School has 4 values. Today we used Shells to decorate HUGE letters. We are going to put them outside to remind anyone who visits our school what we stand for. Keep reaching for the stars everyone!

John 13:34-35

REVERENCE (whakarangatira)in all aspects of school, home, parish and community.
-Hebrews 12:88; Colossians 3:12
Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

RESILIENCE (aumangea- kia kaha)Courage to take risks, accept challenges (tiki/pono) and stand strong (kia kaha) for what is just and right.
-Joshua 1:9; Luke 11:9.
Although the life of a person is in a land full of thorns and weeds, there is always a space in which the good seed can grow. You have to trust God.-Pope Francis

The Motto of our School is: Veritas - TruthImage result for Veritas St Joseph's Oamaru
It takes its origin from St Dominic, the founder of the Dominican Order in the year 1215.  He encouraged his followers to:
